Bishops of Le Puy

Le Puy, anonymous bishops circa 950, denier. Duplessy Féodales 837. Obv: six-armed cross, SCE MARIAE. Rev: cross, +MONETA. Weight 1.13 grams, 21 mm. About VF for the type. This type was found in the Fécamp hoard (deposited 977), but was totally absent in the Le Puy hoard deposited about 100 years later. This fairly well fixes the mid-10th century date. $125.
