Antioch, Tancred (Regent for the absent Bohemond I, 1101-1103 and 1104-1112), AE follis, third type, overstruck on an anonymous Byzantine follis of Class G (attributed to Romanus IV, 1068-71). Obv: St. Peter standing, holding cross, right hand raised in benediction. Rev: cross, D S F T (Domine salvum fac Tancredum) in angles. Metcalf 71ff, Malloy 6. Weight 9.07 grams -- approximately the weight of an anonymous Byzantine follis. Diameter about 23 x 24 mm. Good Fine or thereabouts. SOLD
